Listening, Acting, Renewing: Young Adults & the Church

posted 21 Mar 2018, 22:35 by Mennonite Church Alberta
Foothills Mennonite Church in Calgary will host the 2018 Christian Faith Studies on May 14 - 16. Sessions begin at 2pm on Monday the 14th and end Wednesday at 11:30. Peter Epp, Irma Dueck Fast, and Anika Rayner, all from CMU, will be sharing on Young Adults & the Church.  Come for all sessions, one day, or an evening.

Two evening events are open to the public:
Monday 7pm "A Time to Listen"
Tuesday 7pm "Grown-up: an Evening of Storytelling

“A Time to Listen”  This session will feature a panel of Mennonite Church Alberta young adults, inviting older participants to practice and learn from the kind of listening that is critical to engaging and understanding young adults. Panelists’ sharing will be followed by Q&A.

“Grown-up: An evening of storytelling” This event will follow a variation of a model for community engagement through storytelling that has drawn intergenerational participants (including large numbers of young adults) to share deeply, joyfully, and profoundly with one another in the UK, Netherlands, Chicago, Nashville, and Winnipeg. Our theme, grown-up, will encourage participants to listen closely to the unique experiences that different generations of Christians, and each individual Christian, can have with becoming or being “grown-up.”
